Chicken brined overnight in coffee with fresh oranges and star anise? Why yes, according Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs over on Food52. The two cook and photograph a recipe submitted by gingerroot and fall for the taste. “The spiced coffee and orange brine infuses the meat with a smoky fragance,” Hesser and Stubbs write. “The flavor is subtle but discernable, and unlike anything we can recall.
